Must-See in Paris at Christmas
Department Stores and Covered Passages
This episode of the podcast lists all the best places in Paris to do your Christmas shopping or just enjoy the decorations. My relatives who live in Paris took me around the way they like to shop at Christmas and it’s so much fun when you know how to do this! It’s all shared in this episode: Christmas Shopping in Paris, Episode 214
Which Christmas Market?
There are many, including some that only pop up for a week-end or two. The most official and current list is here.
But everyone wants to see the one on the Champs Elysées. It was cancelled in 2017 (political shenanigans) and it is rumored to be coming back 2018 at the Jardin des Tuileries on the other side of the Place de la Concorde.
Will it really come back? It’s not sure at this time. The organizer, Marcel Campion, has been in the news a lot as he likes to antagonize politicians. Time will tell. Check back here for the official word as the day approaches.
French Christmas Traditions
French Christmas traditions are similar to what you’ll find in other countries, but differ in one major way: the emphasis is on the food and drink!
