We arrived in Paris on August 13th. We then checked into The Da Vinci Hotel at 25 Rue des Saint Peres. In the pictures that I sent you can see the hotel lobby and breakfast buffet they put out each morning which was fabulous! It is a small Boutique Hotel in St. Germain area. We loved it! The rooms are small but well appointed. The staff is very friendly and very helpful.
We found a little cafe on our way to Ill de la Cite where we did your Voice Map Tour. It was excellent! At 4:00 we toured the Saint Chapelle Cathedral. Then we had dinner at the St. Regis where I had the Steak and Frites… wonderful!
Saturday August 14th we walked to Champs Elysses where we shopped for awhile. then we walked back through the Tuilleries Garden and ate at Eric Kayser. We entered The Louvre at 2pm. We did the Rick Steves Audio Guide Tour and added The Rubens Wing. We LOVED it all! WE stopped for Coffee out on the terrace half way through. We had dinner that night at LA Place Royale recommended by our Hotel in the Marais area.
Sunday August 15. WE did your St. Germain Voice Map tour at 10am. We made a deter to the Luxembourg Gardens. Went to Saint Sulpice Church. We then took an Uber to the Orangerie Museum to see the Water Lilies by Monet. We loved the other art in there as well! We then went to the D’Orsay at 3. Of course that is awesome! We then had dinner at Les Antiqaries which I believe you recommended. It was very good… sat outside and the waiters were very friendly and cute:)
Monday, August 16. We Ubered to the Eiffel Tower walked to the Trocadero and got a coffee at a cafe across the street. Then had our picture taken by a vendor at the Trocadero. Then went up the Eiffel Tower. We then walked to Rue Cler.. There we went to the fomagerie and got some cheese and ham and then found a bakery and bought a baguette and coke and ate outside and watched the rain! Walked by Napoleans tomb. Then had crepes. Found the Shakespeare and Company Shop. Bought some art outside. Then went on the boat tour down the Seine. Had dinner at Le Rar du Bouillon your recommendation and ate Escargot. All very good but they were very under staffed.
Tuesday August 17. We went back to Champs Elysses to the Louis Vuitton Store where we bought a gorgeous purse and a wallet that they stamped the Eiffel Tower and my initials inside!! So excited! We then Ubered to the Montmarte area and went to a pharmacy to get a Covid Test. Then we went to the Garnier Opera and took the tour. My biggest most pleasant surprise! Just Gorgeous and fascintating. We both want to see an Opera there or at least watch one on UTube! We then Ubered to the St. Sopice Cathedral. Started your walking tour of Montmarte but we had to do it backwards because we started in the wrong place. Do not recommend that! But we made it work! We had a cheese and ham crepe yum! Did not find any art to buy…. proceeded down the hill and enjoyed the beautiful walk. Lots of cobblestones somewhat difficult… Steve wore the wrong shoes. We were picked up at Mouillon Rouge and went to dinner at Robert Et Louise. Great Recommendation!! We sat at a large table and they sat the cutest young girl Doctors from Italy that were working in Paris. I had the honey breast of Duck! Delicious!!
Wednesday August 18th. We ubered to Versailles. Tour started at 10am. It was practically empty and enjoyed it immensely! Then we toured the gardens and ate lunch. Recommend renting a golf cart which we did. Had dinner at a restaurant near our hotel.
Thursday August 19. WE chunneled to London!! Presented passport, Covid Test and Vaccine Cards all very easy!
