Are you going to be in Paris during the Olympics? You will need a “Pass Jeux” (Pass for the Games) to be able to go anywhere along the river Seine.
They are doing this to secure the area along the river which is where many of the events will take place. But you’ll need this even if you’re not going to any events! No pass, no access! Once you get this Pass you’ll be able to display a QR code that will get scanned when you enter the area.
You can apply for it here. Sweet, the page comes in English as well as French! You will need to upload a photo of your passport and a photo ID. Follow the instructions, it is self-explanatory. Most people get their pass in their email within hours of applying.
