On today's episode we discuss the Sainte Chapelle in Paris. It was the Louis IX's private chapel which he commissioned to display the treasure he had brought back from the Crusade. In French we refer to him as Saint Louis because he was so pious and was canonized soon after his death. We think this should be on everyone's top-10 for Paris, even for people who don't enjoy visiting churches.

On a sunny day, the Sainte Chapelle feels like walking into a kaleidoscope. The colors will overwhelm you and you'll never look at stained-glass windows the same way. The craftspeople of the time knew things about light and color that we've since forgotten, and modern science is only now re-discovering them again.

The Sainte-Chapelle is small, it shouldn't take you more than an hour to see it all. Is the line to get into the Sainte Chapelle worth it? Yes, absolutely! The security line can look daunting, but it usually moves swiftly and the attraction is worth it!
