How much can you pack into one week in Paris? How much is too much? I think a lot depends on the age of the people in your party and your level of stamina. Because it takes a lot of stamina to pack a lot of attractions into one week in Paris.

In Paris you'll do your 10,000 steps in a day without even trying, and if you go at the same pace as Sergio and Nicolas you'll do at least 20,000 steps per day. Get your virtual sneakers on, let's talk about visiting Paris at full speed!

One Action-Packed Week in Paris

Sergio and his partner Nicolas spent an action-packed week in Paris, September 19th-26th, 2015. They planned this whole trip by themselves, starting with a well-situated hotel at a good price: Hôtel Cluny Square. They also got a the Paris Pass which means they prepaid for many of the best museums in Paris and avoided many lines--not all as we will see below!

Please note that I recommends you get the Paris Museum Pass rather than the Paris Pass because it's a better deal financially, but it's completely up to you.

How Much Did They Do Exactly?

Just look at the bulleted list below! Doesn't that make your head spin? And that includes a full day at Disneyland and another full day at Versailles! In between all of these attractions they also took the time to do some shopping, visit gift-shops, go to cafés. You can do it if you stay up late and get up early!

Things they would do differently: They would skip the Conciergerie and go to the Catacombs instead.

  1. Listened to this podcast last night and loved hearing about Sergio and Nicholas’s trip, and made me nostalgic for Paris. My husband and I have done two one-week trips to Paris (in 2014 and 2015) and packed in the sites like they did. I feel like Sergio and I must have been siblings in a former life because we like so many of the same things, including Nutella and banana crepes and small museums! (But not Disneyland!). Sergio is absolutely correct about planning in advance. That’s what we did and got the most out of our time and money. We bought a Museum Pass which I think is a bit different from the pass he bought. This pass is for 2, 4, or 6 days and gives you free entrance to most of the museums and other sites in Paris and even better allows you to skip the lines at most places. Very worthwhile especially when visiting Versailles or the Louvre! Can’t wait to go back, because there is always something to see or do that you missed on a previous trip. This year we are going to Strasbourg instead.

  2. So much in so little time! Although our trip is over two weeks, we have seven and a half days planned in Paris proper. I am glad to know that we can get a decent amount covered during our trip. I do know that this will simply whet my appetite and be the first of many visits. Thank you, Sergio for sharing your trip and thank you also to Annie for providing a podcast full of information, laughter and the joie de vivre of France in general!
