Let's Review

Chamonix, Annecy and the Alps were so different from Alsace that it almost felt like a different country. They also noted that this area is easy to deal with for visitors who don't speak French, there are a lot of English speakers in hotels, restaurants, etc.  This area would a great choice for anyone, but especially for families with children because you can do a lot more than walk around a pretty place, which tends to get boring for children after a while.
